PMP’s approach to change management is based on a “personal growth model”:  An organization, by nature, is a group of people organized to fulfill a common purpose. Therefore any effort to expand an organization's ability to excel must focus on personal growth for each individual.

When organizational leaders are able to create a culture based in personal growth, change is not only accepted, it is initiated by people throughout the organization.  There are three essential cornerstones which must be laid for a personal growth culture to develop:

  1. Leaders must engender commitment to a purpose seen by associates as compelling; a purpose that gives meaning to work.  Commitment to such a compelling purpose produces personal ownership of organizational goals.
  2. Personal responsibility must be embraced by all.  Associates look to their managers to hold them accountable, like people use personal trainers to keep them on track to achieve their goals.  Accountability is supportive, not punitive.
  3. Trust must be developed throughout the organization.  People must trust that “we are in it together”, that they share goals for the future.  With a foundation of trust, people can learn and grow from differences of opinion, rather than “fighting” about differences.  Such a coaching culture is the foundation of a learning organization.

The PMP change management model is leadership based, rather than viewing change as a negative, or as something to be endured.  Generating a desire to make positive changes for a better future is critical for any change process to be effective.  Leaders must become adept at helping their people change the way they look at their jobs, and change the way they work.
To do this leaders must operate in new, sometimes-uncomfortable ways, "outside of the box" of their natural behavior. They must develop new capabilities in order to achieve their goals.  The PMP coach, a former business owner or corporate executive, is the personal guide through this process. We focus on applying new leadership methods to real-world challenges; producing personal growth; proven by measurable results.
